I'm on a MacBook Pro, mid 2010, MacOS v10.12.6. I received this message: 'Backup Failed- Time Machine couldn't back up to 'My Passport for Mac'. What do I do? Can I copy the contents of the My Passport for Mac onto another external drive, then reformat the nonworking drive? Previously I inadvertently closed the Mac a few times, without properly ejecting the drive first. Could this cause the problem? Could this have corrupted the files I stored on the drive?
How can I tell if that happened? If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful!!
